GROUP INSTRUCTION

Group Instruction Is For Those Who Are Happy With The Social Approach That Our Group Classes Offer. LAKE DIVE ONLY

While We Strive To Have All Of Our Group Instructor Classes Complete Their Final Open Water Dives At The Same Time, We Understand Sometime That Is Not Possible. Lake Dive Only Is Exactly That, It Is For Those Who Have Completed All Of The Written And Pool Work, But Were Unable To Attend The Lake Dive With Their Group. Should You Miss The Originally Planned Lake Dives With Your Certification Class, We Will Try To Add You In With The Next Group If Available, However If There Is Not Availability And A Separate Trip Needs To Be Made, A Lake Only Fee Will Be Added To Your Certification Package. MORE INFO

If You Are Brand New To Scuba And Have A Few More Questions Or Would Like To Know A Little More About What It Takes, Please Take A Moment To Read Through Our Course Break Down Below. As Always, Don’t Hesitate To Contact Us If You Can’t Find What You’re Looking For Or Would Like To Speak With A Member Of Our Team!

SWIM TEST

As You May Have Expected, SCUBA Does Require The Ability To Swim. What You May Not Expect Though, Is That The Swimming Requirement For SCUBA Is More About Your Ability To Comfortable Move Through The Water And Less About How Fast, Strong Or Long You Can Swim. For The Open Water Certification, Which Is The Entry Level SCUBA Certification, All Participants Are Required To Complete A 200m Swim Test. The Swim Test Is Typically Conducted On Your First Day Of In Person Pool Skills.

CLASSROOM/ONLINE CONTENT

As With Most Certifications, There Is Going To Be A Little Bit Of Literature Involved. For The OPEN WATER SCUBA Certification, There Are 5 Modules That Every Diver Will Complete. The Modules Are As Follows: The Underwater Environment, Physics And Physiology, Scuba Equipment, Skills Development And Planning Your Dive. There Is Also A Brief 6th Chapter That Covers The Next Steps Available For New Divers After The Open Water Certification.

CONFINED WATER/POOL SKILLS

In This Section Of The Course, Dive Students Will Take The Concepts They’re Just Covered In The Classroom And Put Them Into Practice. Everything From Gear Assembly To Underwater Skills To Planning Your Open Water Dives Will All Be Covered At Length, Allowing Dive Students To Really Get Comfortable With All Of The Equipment And Skills Needed For Their First Open Water Dive!

FINAL EXAM

While It May Sound Scary, Over 95% Of SCUBA Students Pass The Final Exam On Their First Attempt. While We Assure You That Doesn’t Mean It Is Easy, But Your Instructors Are Highly Trained To Deliver The Course Work And Material Necessary To Prepare Dive Students For The Final Exam And Their Final Certification Dives.

OPEN WATER/LAKE CERTIFICATION DIVES

The Final Steps To Completing The Open Water Certification Is To Complete 2 Days Of Diving In “Open Water”. For Us In Arizona, This Usually Means A Trip To Lake Pleasant! Although 90% Of Our Dive Students Complete Their Certification Dives At Lake Pleasant, Diving In A Lake Is Not Required. During These 2 Days, Dive Students Will Demonstrate All That They Have Learned In The Previous Pool Sessions.
